CELEBRATE THE SEASON WITH A “YOU’VE BEEN SHAMROCKED” SIGN PACKAGE!
You’ve Been SHAMROCKED! You’ve heard of “You’ve been Flocked,” well, this St. Patrick’s Day why not tell your friends & family, “You’ve Been Shamrocked!” with a festive green St. Patrick’s Day yard display?!
WHAT? Order a “You’ve Been SHAMROCKED!” lawn sign package* so you can deck your lawns. Each lawn decorating package includes 1 lawn sign, 7 lucky shamrocks, 3 balloons* (colors of the Irish flag), ribbon, and a “pot” of GOLD! (in the form of gold-foil-wrapped chocolates).
WHO? YOU! Shamrock your family! Shamrock your friends! Shamrock yourself! Who will you shamrock this month? Nominate a health care, teacher, school employee, or another local hero and shamrock them as your way to say “THANK YOU” for their selfless service during Covid!
WHEN? Order now through 3/17 (or until they sell out). Order online https://www.eventbrite.com/e/youve-been-shamrocked-lawn-sign-package-tickets-143222804263 or complete an order form at the GDICC – ask the bartender for a form. Checks for $20 are payable to GDICF.
WHERE? Pick up your shamrock lawn decorating package at the club (6 Lake Avenue, Danbury) on or after Sat. 3/5. Then set it up at your friend’s or family’s house for them to display during the month of March! No need to return the signs, they’re yours/theirs to keep! *Due to COVID
QUESTIONS? Contact Wendy Mitchell (203) 501-7424 or at DanburyIrish@gmail.com

*Lawn packages must be picked up at the club. They cannot be delivered by our volunteers due to Covid.
**Signs do not have to be returned. They are yours/theirs to keep! Use again next year!
***Due to Covid safety, balloons will not be blown up by us. They will come pre-packed with string in a Ziploc bag for you to blow up and add to your display
WE WILL BE OPEN ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
We will be open from 11 am to 11 pm on St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17, 2021! There will be limited capacity due to continuing COVID restrictions, but we will also have take out food including corned beef available, including curbside pick up, and live music! Check back as plans are finalized!
VISIT US FOR DINNER ON THE WEEKENDS!
The Center is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for dinner and drinks! Our hours are 5 to 10 pm on those three evenings, with food served from 5:30 to 9 pm. Take out orders with curbside pick up are also available – just call 203-739-0010 and make your order with the bartender.
The Center needs your support now more than ever, so if you are able to stop in for a meal and a pint to support the club, it is so much appreciated!
OPEN ON CERTAIN SUNDAYS!
Football may be over for now, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t still have fun at the Center on a Sunday afternoon! We will be open on particular Sundays – check the calendar on the Events page!
Please continue to support the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center and Foundation by donating to the Foundation’s GoFundMe campaign to support the Foundation and club as we weather the continued effects of the pandemic! And please share this link on your pages and with friends and family! Any size donation is greatly appreciated – consider donating an amount equivalent to what you would spend for dinner and drinks a few nights a month at the club! Thank you so much for your support!
The purpose of the GDICF is to establish a permanent place in the Danbury community dedicated to preserving the cultural influences and historical contributions of the Irish people who emigrated to this country and in particular to the Danbury area. Centered by the motto “Tradition, Pride, Friendship and Community”, the Greater Danbury Cultural Foundation (and the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center) will be a place where the Irish language, music and dance can be taught to young and old alike: Irish books and history may be collected and shared: and Irish Craic (camaraderie) may be enjoyed.
Get excited about your Irish heritage or explore Irish culture at the GDICC and through its activities!
Please check this site frequently for updates and upcoming events.
